Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts the RRB JE examination for recruiting candidates to the various post. Post and Number OF vacancies may differ each year. As last year in RRR JE 2019 the recruitment was done for 4 posts namely; Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant and JE (IT). The RRB JE recruitment is done on the basis of CBT 1, CBT 2, Document Verification, and Medical Test. From this page check the RRB JE Important dates, Exam Pattern and Syllabus.

RRB JE 2020

Till now no official notification of RRB JE 2020 has been released but it is expected that information notification may get released in the last of December 2019. Railway Junior Engineer recruitment is one of the largest recruitment of India as each year lakhs of candidates appear for this examination.

RRB JE Eligibility Criteria Before applying for the recruitment process do read the eligibility criteria as if the candidate not full fills the eligibility norms then he/she will be not allowed to appear for the examination.

Nationality:

  •  A candidate must have Indian citizenship or the candidates belonging from Nepal or Bhutan.
  • The candidates who have settled in India before 1st January 1962 and want to permanently settle in India those are eligible to apply

Age Limit

  • The candidate’s age must be a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 33 years.
  • The SC or ST category candidate will be given 5 years of age relaxation.
  • The  OBC and PwD category candidates will be given 3 and 13 years of age relaxation, respectively.
Qualification Criteria (As per the last year posts)
  • Junior Engineer / Material Superintendent - The candidates must have an Engineering diploma or degree in the relevant field.
  • Junior Engineer (IT):  The candidates must have PGDCA/B.Sc. (Computer Science)/ BCA/ B.Tech (IT)/ B.Tech (Computer Science)/ DOEACC B course of 3 years or equivalent from a identified university or institute
  • Chemical and Metallurgical Assistance (CMA): Candidates should have done a Bachelor’s in Science with Physics and Chemistry by scoring a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.

RRB JE Exam Pattern

It is very important for the applicants to know about the exam pattern as if you will don’t have an idea of the exam pattern then applicants will be not able to do the proper exam preparation. The candidates who will be shortlisted for CBT 2 on the basis of Normalization and the one who qualifies the CBT 2 examination will be called for the Document verification round but for this round shortlisting will be again done on the basis of Normaliaxtion marks.

  • Duration of Exam - 90 minute
  • Examination Languages - English, Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Konkani, Odiya, Assamese, Bengali, Manipuri, and Malayalam.
  • Type of Questions - Multiple Choice Questions

  • Examination Languages - English, Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Konkani, Odiya, Assamese, Bengali, Manipuri, and Malayalam.
  • Type of Questions - Multiple Choice Questions
  • Marking Scheme - 1 marks for each correct answer
  • Negative Marking - Minus (one third) marks for each incorrect answer.
