 SSC CHSL Syllabus 2024

SSC CHSL Exam Syllabus is divided into three phases, so to get selected for various government office posts, one needs to know all these phases in detail. The SSC CHSL Tier I is an Objective Multiple Choice Question paper in which students must attempt a computer-based exam. The same Tier-II exam is a Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi subjects are included.

Basic Guidelines

• The written test consists of an objective paper of 100 questions / 200 marks.
• Questions from the sections (General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill), and General Awareness) will be set in both languages. English and Hindi. The English Language section will be in English only.
• There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
• This exam’s total duration is 01:00 hours (60 minutes).

SSC CHSL Syllabus 2024 Tier-I Exam

The SSC CHSL is the first competitive exam in the banking sector and is a significant milestone in anyone’s career. It is an opportunity for candidates to prove themselves and demonstrate their strengths and weaknesses.

The SSC CHSL syllabus outlines the topics covered in the exam and the format in which they will be examined. Candidates should know the SSC CHSL syllabus and format to prepare effectively.

1. General Intelligence:-

comprises both verbal and non-verbal type questions. The test will include questions on Semantic Analogy, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/Number Classification, Drawing inferences, Figural Classification, Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding, Semantic Series, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation, Semantic Classification, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Figural Series, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Coding and de-coding, Other sub-topics, if any Numerical operations, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence.

2. English Language:-

Improvement of Sentences, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One-word substitution,  Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage.

3. Geometry:

Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts: Triangle and its various kinds of centers, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles.

4. Mensuration:

Right Prism, Rectangular Parallelepiped,  Right Circular Cone, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base.

5. Trigonometry:

Complementary angles, Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Height, and distances.

6. Statistical Charts:

Frequency polygon, Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram,  Bar-diagram, Pie-chart.

7. General Awareness:

Questions are designed to test the candidate‟s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect, as an educated person may expect. The test will also include questions about India and its neighbouring countries, especially history, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy, and scientific research.

Decimal and Fractions, Computation of Whole Numbers, and Relationship between numbers.

10. Fundamental arithmetical operations:

Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Discount, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time and Work, Partnership Business, etc.

11. Algebra:

Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations.

Tier-II Descriptive Test Pattern

Basic Guidelines

• The descriptive test will be of a total of 100 marks.
• The duration of the paper will be of one hour.
• The descriptive test will be taken in pen and paper mode.

SSC CHSL Tier III Syllabus 2024

To qualify for this test, the candidate must have an average data entry speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour.

A test duration of 15 minutes will be given, and an English document containing approximately 2000-2200 strokes/key depressions will be given to be typed.

Skill Test for the Post of Data Entry Operator in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) of India:

15000 key depressions speed per hour will be decided based on the correct entry of words/key depressions as per the given passage.

A test duration of 15 minutes and printed material in English consisting of approximately 3700-4000 key depressions will be given to each candidate, who will record it on the test computer.

Skill Test for the post of Lower Division Clerk/Junior Secretariat Assistant (LDS/JSA) and Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant (PA/SA):

The speed of 10500 key depressions per hour will be decided based on the correct entry of words/key depressions per the given passage.

This test will take 15 minutes, and each candidate will have to print material in English containing approximately 9000 critical depressions/hour and enter it into the test computer.
