BITSAT Eligibility Criteria (Revised 2026-27)
To be part of the BITS branches, you must follow the strict eligibility guidelines. BITS Pilani has recently confirmed that students who retake the entire Class 12 examination are no longer eligible. Only students passing in 2025 or 2026 are eligible for this cycle.
For BITSAT 2026 Exam:
- Qualification: You must have passed the 12th exam in 2025 or be appearing in 2026.
- Subject Requirements: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) are required for B. Pharm. Notably, PCB students are now also eligible for the B.E. Environmental & Sustainability Engineering program.
- Marks: You must score at least 75% aggregate marks in PCM/PCB and a minimum of 60% marks individually in each of these subjects.
Direct Admission to Board Toppers
Direct admission is possible, but limited: only First Rank holders (Toppers) of State or Central boards are eligible for direct admission, provided they meet the 75% PCM/PCB aggregate requirement. This allows the brightest minds to join any course of their choice bypassing the BITSAT score requirement.

BITSAT Exam Pattern & Normalization
The exam consists of 130 questions. Since the test is conducted in multiple shifts, normalization is applied to maintain fairness. Unofficial scores are displayed immediately on your screen after you finish, which we find incredibly helpful for early planning.
