GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a national-level competitive examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). This is supposed to be the most difficult examination for a candidate who wants to pursue their career in the engineering field. Candidates who are planning to do a master’s in engineering can prepare for the GATE examination to take a lateral entry in the topmost Indian colleges. Also, the aspirants get a feasible discount on their master’s fees by scoring a good rank in the gate examination.
IIT conducts the GATE examination once a year. There are more than 1700 colleges all over India where you can take admission for your master’s or doctorate in engineering. Around 10 lakh students appear for the Gate examination every year. Among which only a few thousand will be able to qualify for this exam. So, the cruciality level of the GATE examination is quite high as compared to other competitive exams. GATE scorecard is mandatory to get a job in many popular PSUs. This also increases the cruciality of this examination.
This is an online examination of 3 hours duration with 27 subjects. Previously, the GATE syllabus consisted of 25 subjects. But lately, IT has modified the syllabus and added 2 new subjects to the syllabus. So, currently, candidates have to prepare for 27 subjects in total. There will be 65 questions from the listed 27 subjects. All the questions will be objective type and you have to choose the correct answer from the given alternatives. For each correct answer, the candidate will get complete marks. However, for each incorrect answer, one-third mark would be deducted.
If you want updated study material, notes, and syllabus of the GATE 2021 then you can visit Spin ON Education. You will also get mock test practice for your GATE examination. This Mock test contains contact questions from the past few years. Hence this will also give the candidates a rough idea about the examination regarding what is going to come or not.
Students can see the result of the GATE examination on the official website of GATE. Once the results are out you will get a notification from the Spin on Education. But for this, you have to register yourself with us. Students also have the authority to raise objections to the deduction of unnecessary marks in the examination. They have to pay an additional 500 Rs for each objection. However, if the authority accepts your objection, then this fee will be refunded back to the candidate. Candidates can justify their objections by providing valid proof to the authority.
GATE is a national level entrance exam and stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. For admission in doctoral and postgraduate courses administered by MHRD governing institutes and other government colleges like NITs, IITs, IISc, and GFTIs. On the rotational basis, this exam is conducted by seven IITs (Roorkee, Madras, Delhi, Bombay, Kanpur, Guwahati, and Kharagpur) and IISC (Indian Institute ofScience) Bangalore on account of the NCB (National Coordination Board). GATE 2021 Exam is conducted by IIT Delhi. The score obtained in GATE 2021 is valid for 3 years from the date of the declaration of the results.
Furthermore, the GATE exam score is also used in several PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) like IOCL, NTPC, ONGC, BHEL, GAIL and etc in their recruitment selection. In recent addition, the GATE score is also valid in the Cabinet Secretariat recruitment of candidates of Group “A” category for the post of Senior Field Officer (SFO) and SRO (Senior Research Officer).
