Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts the RRB JE Examination on the national level for multiple posts. The students can apply for the post of Junior Engineer, Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant, Depot Material Superintendent, and JE (IT). All of the above-mentioned posts are reputed once and the difficulty level of examination varies from moderate to hard. Currently, there are no updates from RRB regarding the application dates of this examination. It is important to go through the eligibility criteria of the RRB JE examination before applying for the post. The candidate should be of Indian nationality to apply for this examination. Also, people from Nepal and Bhutan are eligible to appear for this examination. Also, there is an age restriction to apply for the RRB JE Examination. Candidates more than 33 years and less than 18 years of age are not allowed to apply for this examination. However, there is age relaxation for the candidates falling under SC/ST, OBC, and PwD categories. The age relaxation for the SC/ST, OBC, and PwD categories will be 5 years, 3 years, and 13 years respectively.
There are four stages in the RRB JE examination. Students have to clear all four stages separately to qualify for the post. The first two stages will be a computer bases test. In this first stage, students have to answer 100 Multiple choice types questions of 100 marks. There will be four subjects in the first CBT– Mathematics (30), General Intelligence and reasoning (25), General Awareness (15), and General Science (30). The second stage of the RRB JE examination is also an online computer-based test. There will be a total of 150 questions in this section from 5 subjects. The five subjects would be General Awareness, Physics/Chemistry, Basic computer, Basic environment, and Pollution control and technical ability. The weightage of each subject will be 15,15,10,10 and 100 respectively. Aspirants will get 120 minutes (2 hours) to complete the second stage of the RRB JE Examination.
After qualifying for both computer-based tests, there will be a document verification and medical round. It is important to clear all four stages to the designated post.
