Basic Guideline of this Exam

  • Marking Scheme: 3 marks for a correct answer, while 1 mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed the 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized board in 2022, 2023, or 2024.
  • They must have studied at least three subjects during their 10+2 exam, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
  • Students in the SC/ST category have secured a minimum of 55% marks in the 10+2 exam. Students belonging to other categories require 60% marks on their Class XII exam.

Note: Candidates from the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education from the Kashmir division/Winter Zone areas of the Jammu division and the U.T. of Ladakh can also appear for this exam by fulfilling all the other eligibility criteria.

 

How do I apply for the IISER Entrance Exam?

Fill out the application form by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Registration

Visit the IISER official website and register using your name, email, password, etc. Once done, a verification email will be sent to the provided email address. Then, students can log into their accounts and proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Fill Out the Application Form

Now, candidates must fill out the form by entering personal and educational details, choosing the exam center, uploading a photo or signature, etc.

Step 3: Application Fee

After that, students must pay the application fee through the secure payment gateway, i.e., debit card, credit card, or net banking.

Application Fee

The application fee is paid at the time of the submission of the form.

  • For General, EWS, OBC, and OBC-NCL categories: Rs. 2,000
  • For PwD, persons registered as Kashmiri Migrants (KM) and SC/ST category: Rs. 1,000

Note: The fee is non-refundable.

Seat Acceptance Fee

SAF is paid once the candidates complete the admission process. However, it is paid per the category students entered in the application.

  1. For General/EWS/OBC/PwD/KM categories: Rs. 35,000/- (Rs. 25,000/- + Rs. 10,000/- (Non refundable administrative fee).
  2. For SC/ST categories: Rs. 17,500/- (Rs. 12,500/- + Rs. 5000/- (Non refundable administrative fee).
  3. This amount will be adjusted against your first semester fee once you register in IISER.

Admit Card

The admit card will be released by the exam authority on 1 June 2024. To download it, students must use their log ID and password. On the admit card, they can check the exam date, time, personal details, etc. Students must carry this admit card into the examination hall; otherwise, they’ll not be allowed to take the examination.
