RRB ALP stands for Railway recruitment board Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician. The railway recruitment board (RRB) itself conducts this examination in India to recruit assistant loco pilots and technicians for different railway zones. This exam is conducted for the entire nation but the vacancies are separately distributed among different zones. RRB ALP Technician examination is conducted in multiple languages. Candidates can choose the preferred language while filing the application form. Every year RRB comes up with more than 50,000 vacancies for RRB ALP technicians for different zones. This is the most secure job position on the railway requirement board for which a student can apply.

The eligibility criteria to appear for the post of RRB ALP Technician are as follows. Candidates must be Indian citizens of 18 to 28 years. If the candidates are more than the allowed age limit then authorities will not allow them to sit in the examination. There will be age relaxation for SC/ST, OBC, and PWD candidates of 5, 3, and 10 years, respectively. So, if you fall under these categories then you can apply up to the relaxed age limit.

Candidates who want to apply for the position of Loco pilot should have a matriculation/diploma/engineering degree with themselves. Whereas students who want to apply for the post of technicians must have maths and physics in their intermediate. You can also do an equivalent course to meet the eligibility criteria of this examination.

There would be four phases of the RRB ALP Technician examination. The first two rounds would be a computer-based test where the candidates have to answer multiple-choice type questions. The third stage is a Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) and the final stage is Document Verification. Candidates can check the results on their regional websites to see whether they have qualified for the examination or not.

The first stage of the RRB ALP Technician examination has 75 questions from different subjects. Students can visit the RRB website to see the complete syllabus for each stage. The aspirants will get 60 minutes to complete the first stage of this examination. The second stage is again a computer-based test with a higher difficulty level. In this stage, the candidate has to answer 100 questions in 90 minutes. We request the aspirants to visit the RRB website to know the complete syllabus of each stage. After qualifying for the computer bases test students have to appear for the aptitude test. In this stage the authorities will ask you questions from the following topics – Memory test, Follow directions test, Depth perception test, Concentration test, Perceptual speed test.

 

Railway recruitment board (RRB) conducts RRB ALP Technician Examination to recruit the candidates for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician. RRB ALP Technician Eligibility Criteria

Before filling the registration, form candidates should first read the eligibility criteria as if the candidates will not meet the eligibility criteria and then to, he/she will fill the form then those forms will be not considered for the further recruitment process.

Nationality – The candidates must hold the citizen of India or must be the subject of Nepal, and Bhutan.

Age Limit – The candidate’s age must be of 18 to 28 years.

Age Relaxation – The candidates belonging to SC/ST, OBC and PWD category candidates must be given age relaxation of 5, 3 and 10 years, respectively.

Education Qualification –

Assistant Loco Pilot – The candidates should have matriculation / SSLC plus ITI / Course completed ACT apprentices OR Diploma/degree in engineering.

For Technicians – The candidates should have matriculation / SSLC plus ITI / Course completed ACT apprentices OR must have passed 12th with Physics and Maths OR should have a Diploma in engineering.

RRB ALP 1st Stage (CBT) Exam Pattern

The first stage of the examination is the screening examination. The candidates who will qualify this stage will be only considered for the further process.

  • Exam Duration – 60 minutes
  • Examination Language – Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Manipuri, Konkani
  • Number of Questions – 75
  • Question Types –Multiple Choice Questions
  • Marking Scheme – 1 marks for a right answer
  • Negative Marking –Minus (one third) marks for an incorrect answer

RRB ALP 2nd Stage (CBT) Exam Pattern

The second stage of the examination is divided into two parts i.e. Part A and Part B. The Part A marks are considered for the preparing merit list and Part B is the qualifying exam. In both Part A and B paper, (one third) marks will be deducted for wrong answers.
