King George’s Medical University (KGMU Lucknow) is a public medical university located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. Established in 1875, it was the first Indian university to be established by an Indian and for Indians.
The university has a total of eight constituent faculties and 42 departments, including 23 postgraduate departments and nine centres of excellence. The university is the only medical institution in India to have been bestowed the status of an international institution.
