Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

The age limit for both male and female candidates remains the same. Thus, the minimum age for the NDA exam is 16.5, and the maximum is 19.5 years. Remember that the Commission only accepts the age limit mentioned in the student’s 10th certificate.

Qualification:

  • For the Indian Army: Students must have passed 12th from the State Education Board or a University.
  • For Indian Air Force and Naval: Passed 12th from State Education Board or a University with Physics and Mathematics.
  • Appearing: Those appearing for the 12th level are also eligible to apply.

Fitness:

  • Applicants for this exam must be physically fit, as per the physical standards set by the NDA Admission Commission.
  • Candidates withdrawing or resigning from any Armed Forces Training Academy on grounds of discipline are not eligible.

Nationality:

  • Must be an Indian citizen/subject of Nepal/or Bhutan/refugee of Tibetan who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • Those who have migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the East African countries of Zambia, Tanzania, Zaire, Ethiopia, Malawi, Uganda, or Vietnam with the intention of settling in India are also eligible.

 Marital Status:

  • Only unmarried candidates are eligible to appear for this exam.
  • They will not be allowed to get married until they complete their training period.
  • If they marry during the training period, he/she will be discharged from the Academy.
