BAMS: Exam Pattern, Eligibility Criteria, Educational Qualification and Syllabus

Bachelors of medicine and surgery candidates with 12 pass are eligible for the entrance exam. Aspirants are required to attain maximum marks of 60% for the general category and 50% for the reserved category. The exam mode will be held in two modes written as well as online mode. The important thing which is necessary is that you must have science subjects in your 11th and 12th. 4 marks for each question

1 mark deducted for each wrong attempt

BAMS Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must pass their 12th or equivalent examination with science subjects such as physics, chemistry and biology and English.
  • Candidates must have completed their 12th from a recognized board.
  • The candidates must have completed the age of 17 years are eligible for the entrance exam.
  • For the general category, students are required to secure at least 50% in academics and 40% is required for the reserved categories.
  • Foreign candidates with an equivalent degree can also appear for this examination.


  • The candidate should be an Indian citizen.
  • Aspirants from other countries who have settled here are allowed to give BAMS exam.
