Top 8 Questions Students Are Asking About AEEE 2026

We’ve scoured the student forums to find the real questions on everyone’s mind. Here is the “no-fluff” guide to what you need to know for the 2026-27 session.

1. “Is AEEE 2026 actually harder than JEE Main?”

The Real Deal: Honestly, no. Most students find AEEE to be moderately difficult—it sits right between board exams and JEE Main. While JEE Main tests your deep conceptual “muscle,” AEEE is a sprint. It’s all about how many questions you can accurately solve in 150 minutes. If you can handle NCERT and basic application, you’ll find AEEE much more approachable than JEE.

2. “I heard there’s a new section this year. Do I really have to study for it?”

The Real Deal: Yes! For the 2026-27 cycle, Amrita added Quantitative Aptitude (10 questions). Don’t let the name scare you; it’s basically mental math, logical reasoning, and data interpretation. Pro-tip: Don’t ignore this! These 30 marks are often easier to grab than the complex Physics or Maths questions. Treat them as your “rank booster.”

3. “What happens if I messed up Phase 1 in January?”

The Real Deal: Take a deep breath—you’re fine! Amrita follows a “Best of Two” policy. If you didn’t get the percentile you wanted in Phase 1, you can reappear in Phase 2 (April 24-30). We will only consider your highest score for the final rank. You just need to pay a small registration fee to try again.

4. “Can I get CSE at the Coimbatore campus with a 15k rank?”

The Real Deal: It’s a bit of a stretch for the “Open” category. Historically, CSE at Coimbatore (the headquarters) closes early, often under a 2k rank for open seats. However, if you have a State Quota (Tamil Nadu), your chances improve significantly even with a slightly higher rank. If not, look at the Bengaluru or Amritapuri campuses—they are excellent and the placements are centralized anyway!

5. “Is it true that I have to pick my own exam date?”

The Real Deal: Yes, and this is where most students mess up! AEEE uses a Slot Booking system on the AOAP portal. It’s “first-come, first-served.” If you don’t log in during the booking window (April 10-20 for Phase 2), the system will automatically assign you a slot, which might be in a different city or at a time that clashes with your other exams. Set a reminder now!

6. “Which campus is better for placements? Coimbatore or Bengaluru?”

The Real Deal: Here’s a secret: it doesn’t matter much. Amrita has centralized placements. This means that whether you are in Coimbatore, Bengaluru, or the new Faridabad campus, you are sitting for the same companies (like Microsoft, Google, or Bosch) at the same time. Choose the campus based on the city you prefer and the scholarship slab you get.

7. “How do I get that ‘Slab 1’ scholarship?”

The Real Deal: Performance is key. Scholarship Slabs are based purely on your AEEE or JEE Main rank. To get Slab 1 (the lowest fee), you generally need to be in the top 3-5% of scorers. Just remember, you have to maintain a good CGPA (usually 7.0+) once you’re in college to keep that discount every year!

8. “I’m from a State Board, not CBSE. Will I fail?”

The Real Deal: Not at all! While AEEE is based on the 10+2 level, the questions are heavily inspired by NCERT. Most State Board students find that their syllabus covers 90% of the topics. Just grab an NCERT textbook for Chemistry (specifically for the “ratta” or memorization topics like Polymers and Biomolecules) and you’ll be on par with any CBSE student.

Final Remark!

Stay focused and check for all updated information regarding AEEE Exam 2026 frequently. With the right preparation for the new pattern, you can secure your spot at one of India’s top-ranked universities. We believe in you!
