The reserve bank of India conducts the written Specialist officer exam every year to fulfill the vacant seats in India. Eligibility Criteria For RBI SO Exam

 The eligibility criteria are always set by the reserve bank authority which is mandatory for candidates to fulfill. The candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam otherwise you won’t be allowed to sit in the examination hall.  Also mark before applying for the post and see whether you meet the eligibility criteria.


  • The candidates appearing for the RBI SO exam should be a citizen of India.
  • The candidates from Nepal and Bhutan are allowed to give the exam for 2020.

Age limit

  • The lower age limit of the candidate should not be less than 24 years whereas the upper age limit of the candidate should not exceed 34 years of age.
  • For the reserved categories, the candidates will be given age relaxation especially for SC/ST/OBC, etc.
  • For the exam, the candidate’s date of birth mentioned on their SSC passing certificate will be given consideration.
  • Physically challenged candidates can appear for the exam and they have a special quota according to the position.
  • Ex-servicemen are also included in a reserved category.

Education Qualification

The educational qualification for the RBI SO is given below for which aspirants can check the site online and download all necessary information. Data Analytics

  • The candidate must be a 2 year MBA in finance or M stat with at least 55 percent in the academics from a recognized university or institution.
  • The candidate must at least have three years of experience as a data entry operator in a commercial bank.


  • A candidate must hold a degree in PG in Economics or MBA finance, commerce, PGDM with 55% marks from a recognized Indian or a foreign institute.

Human Resource Management

  • The candidate must hold a PG in human resource management or labor welfare or personnel management from a recognized Indian or a foreign institute.
  • The aspirants should have a working experience of human resource management or in industrial relations or personnel management in banks for at least three years.

Risk Modeling

  • The aspirant should hold a PG in economics, MBA finance, commerce, PGDM finance with aggregate marks from a recognized Indian university or a foreign university.
  • The experience in NBFC or scheduled bank for 3 years is mandatory.

Professional Copy Editing

  • The aspirant with PG in English with at least 55% marks from a recognized university is eligible for the exam.
  • The aspirant must know the Hindi language.
  • The candidate must have experience in a publishing house of at- least three years.
Forensic Audit
  • The candidates with ICWA/CA with certification course on forensic accounting and fraud detection by ICAI are eligible.
  • Candidate with three years of experience in forensic audit in central or state government is eligible.
